The F.I.E.R.O. Board of Directors and staff mourn the passing of Fire Chief Alan Brunacini. Chief Brunacini led the initial movement to improve fire fighter health and safety and continued to lead this mission until his sudden and unexpected passing. He was an inspiration to all of us and we all owe him more gratitude than we can possibly express. Thank you, Chief, for always sharing your knowledge, insight, and encouragement. Rest in peace.
The next Fire PPE Regional Workshops are coming soon. Register now!
F.I.E.R.O. (Fire Industry Education Resource Organization) Regional Fire PPE Workshops are your source for PPE education with comprehensive instruction on National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards for the selection, care and maintenance of structural firefighting personal protective equipment. These workshops are held periodically around the country based on where you're located and the timing that works for your department or region.
Developed and run by fire service personnel, these regional, one-day fire PPE workshops are ideal for firefighters, training and safety officers, and any staff responsible for PPE in your department. Each workshop is customized to meet your department's unique education needs because you select from a variety of topics, including...
- PPE safety and health risks
- Risk assessment
- PPE selection and purchase
- PPE inspection
- PPE cleaning and drying
- PPE verification and certification
- PPE storage
- half-day cleaning and inspection training
Firefighters will leave the workshop with the knowledge and confidence to select the right PPE for your department and maintain their gear for the long-term.
